The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hellson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Winnfield checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Winnfield tries to close the distance and clinch but Hellson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Winnfield uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hellson.
Winnfield appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Winnfield really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hellson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hellson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Winnfield for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hunter Hellson.
