PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Otway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aron Riddick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riddick is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Proletar. The key to victory for John Otway has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otway misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Riddick should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Otway throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Decent striking displayed by Otway there.
A telegraphed right hand from Otway misses the target.
Otway stuffs the takedown.
Otway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riddick circles away quickly and effectively.
Otway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Riddick clinches up with Otway and pushes him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Otway defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Riddick has hold of one of Otway's legs. Otway is fighting the takedown attempt but Riddick gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Riddick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Otway swats him away and circles back towards the center.
