Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Travis Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Durez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Omar Durez!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durez looks to land a combination but Gillespie avoids it well.
Durez throws a leg kick

and Gillespie counters with a takedown into side control.

Gillespie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Gillespie moves into the clinch.
Durez throws a knee to the head but misses.
Durez looks winded!
A nice glancing elbow lands by Gillespie.
Gillespie dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Come on Gillespie - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Gillespie manages to break the clinch.
Durez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Durez clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Durez with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Gillespie is struggling to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gillespie unloads a knee to the mid-section. Durez lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Gillespie stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Gillespie throws a punch but it's blocked by Durez.
With the fighters up against the cage, Durez throws an elbow but misses.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Gillespie pulls Durez into guard.

Gillespie pushes Durez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Gillespie feints and then cracks Durez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Durez down.
Durez darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Gillespie moves into the clinch successfully.
Gillespie content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gillespie is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Gillespie pulls guard.

Gillespie has his feet on Durez's thighs here. He's pushed Durez off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Durez screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
