PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chang Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Hoollans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoollans has chosen The Game - Jesus Piece (Feat. Kanye West & Common) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Felix Hoollans!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stuart shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hoollans manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stuart postures up.
Stuart throws a big elbow that misses.
Hoollans looking to control.
Stuart lands a couple of digs.
Hoollans utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Stuart is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoollans has wrist control.

Stuart decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hoollans moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoollans gets through Stuart's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stuart wants a takedown but no success here.
Stuart is trying to pull guard but Hoollans has him pressed against the cage.

Hoollans wants to stand but Stuart is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stuart is trying to work for a kimura but Hoollans is defending well.
Stuart looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hoollans with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stuart drops an elbow to the side of Hoollans's head.
Hoollans is trying to stand up here but Stuart is controlling him well.
Hoollans is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stuart scores with a couple of nice shots.
Stuart lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

It looks like Chang Stuart has been cut.

Hoollans darts in and clinches Stuart up against the cage.

Stuart manages to pull guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hoollans's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Hoollans clinches up against the cage.
Stuart jumps guard but Hoollans stands there with Stuart around his waist. Stuart gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hoollans lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stuart is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hoollans can't fight it off and eventually Stuart manages to take the fight to the floor. Hoollans looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hoollans pushes Stuart off and scrambles back to his feet.

Stuart fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hoollans, pushing him back against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hoollans wants to stand and escape but Stuart is having none of it.
Hoollans controls Stuart momentarily but Stuart frees himself.
Hoollans wants to sweep but no luck.

Hoollans is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hoollans is breathing heavily.
Stuart is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hoollans wants to stand and escape but Stuart is having none of it.
Stuart is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Stuart drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hoollans manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stuart has Hoollans in his guard.

Stuart dives in for a single leg takedown but Hoollans sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Stuart decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hoollans to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chang Stuart will probably get the nod.
