Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royce Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royce Allen had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Royce Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ted Bong!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Bong does no damage.
Bong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bong looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Bong moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice sprawl there from Allen as Bong shoots in.
Allen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bong manages to circle out of the way.
Royce Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Bong.
Bong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allen pinned against the cage. Allen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Allen is looking to counter the offense by Bong and move into the clinch.

Allen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bong swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bong stands and steps away. Allen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Allen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bong somewhat.

Allen wants to stand up but Bong is controlling the position.

Allen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bong has control of Allen's left arm, preventing Allen from doing any damage.
Allen wants to stand but Bong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bong pulls Allen in to control the position.

Bong kicks Allen off and gets to his feet.
Allen stuffs the takedown attempt from Bong. Bong gets slowly back to his feet.
Royce Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Royce Allen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Allen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bong has had enough of the clinch but Allen keeps him there for the moment.
Bong gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Allen.
Allen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Bong wants a takedown but no success here.

Ted Bong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Allen tries to pull guard but Bong holds him up against the cage and eventually Allen drops back down to his feet.
Bong goes for a takedown attempt but Allen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bong moves into the clinch.
Bong is working Allen over against the cage.
Bong tries to break the clinch but Allen is controlling the position.

Allen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bong fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Allen feinted with a counter takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bong throws a head kick that misses.
Allen attempts a counter takedown but Bong avoids it well and moves away.

Allen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bong looks like he wants to counter punch here.

A close second round but Ted Bong will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bong tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Allen's elbow.
Bong changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Allen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Allen seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Allen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Allen wants to stand and escape but instead Bong has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Bong stands and steps away. Allen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I would just about give that final round to Ted Bong.
