Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blair Melton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Jones!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands with an overhand left.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.

Melton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones dodges the ground and pound from Melton.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Melton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Melton tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
Melton in side control, throwing shots but Jones defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Melton throws an elbow but Jones slips to the side and avoids it well.
Jones defending against the ground and pound.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Melton gets to mount! Jones was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Melton raining down hammerfists from mount.
Melton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones is trying to stand up.
Melton throws some wild stikes that Jones manages to avoid easily.

Melton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
Melton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Melton escapes and gets back to his feet.
Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Melton closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Melton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.
Melton is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Melton has control of the leg.
Melton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Melton is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
Jones is looking to control Melton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?
Melton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Melton seems to be looking for submissions.
Melton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Melton looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Melton thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Melton not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Melton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Melton.
Melton content to control rather than advance.

Melton lands with a punch from half guard.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Melton.
Melton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Melton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Melton is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blair Melton dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Jones will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones thuds his right hand into Melton's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones scores with a crisp jab that stopped Melton in his tracks.

Melton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jones throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jones tries to break free but Melton pushes him back against the cage.

Melton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Aaron Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Melton seems unphased.
Jones has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Melton. Melton maintains the clinch.
Jones lands with a right to the head.
A head punch on the inside from Jones fails to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Melton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Melton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Melton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Melton breaks from the clinch.
Jones lands a jab to the nose.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.


Melton is rocked!
Blair Melton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones throws a series of punches but Melton avoids them all with ease.
Oh Melton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones moves in close and cracks Melton with a massive right hand! Melton, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Jones!
