Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kendrick Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Saitou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saitou has chosen XENO as his entrance music. Takeshi Saitou has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendrick Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Saitou!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saitou tries to close the distance and clinch up but Perkins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Perkins shoots in and drives through. Saitou sprawls well.
Saitou misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saitou shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perkins as he avoids it easily.
Perkins seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Saitou tries for a takedown but Perkins circles away easily
and Saitou takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Saitou shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Perkins defends it nicely.
Kendrick Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeshi Saitou.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saitou tries to clinch but Perkins moves out of range.
Perkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saitou.
Saitou closes the distance and clinches.
Saitou misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Saitou is trying to stall.
Perkins wants to take the fight to the mat but Saitou manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Perkins has hold of one of Saitou's legs. Saitou is fighting the takedown attempt but Perkins gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Perkins stops Saitou from standing up.
Perkins passes Saitou's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Saitou trying to control but Perkins postures up.
Saitou is defending against the submission attempts here by Perkins.
Perkins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Saitou is just riding it out for now. Perkins eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perkins is looking for a kimura but Saitou is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Perkins to get the leverage.
Saitou is looking to improve his position.
Perkins is looking to advance position but Saitou won't allow it.
Saitou tries to roll over but Perkins keeps him under control.
Perkins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perkins throwing shots but Saitou is blocking nicely.
Saitou is trying to stand back up but Perkins is controlling him
Saitou is controlling Perkins's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Perkins looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Perkins moves nicely into side control.
Perkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Perkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Saitou is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Perkins tries for a kimura but Saitou is defending well.
Saitou struggling a bit here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perkins is working to tighten his grip on Saitou's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Saitou has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Perkins is really squeezing tight and eventually Saitou passes out! Perkins breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Kendrick Perkins gave a mention to Zenith Nutrition (160q/225$) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
