Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Washburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Mahrous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahrous tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Washburn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mahrous fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mahrous shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Washburn pinned against the cage. Washburn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mahrous shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Washburn wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Mahrous avoids the head kick by Washburn .
Washburn leaves Mahrous with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Mahrous tries to get set, Washburn tries to push him back and clinch up but Mahrous manages to avoid the attempt.
Alex Washburn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul Mahrous.
Washburn misses the shot to the body.
Mahrous looks for a takedown but Washburn sprawls well.
Washburn throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Washburn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mahrous dives in for a single leg takedown but Washburn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mahrous.

Mahrous shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Washburn as he avoids it easily.
Washburn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mahrous fails with the takedown.
Alex Washburn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mahrous gets the takedown into side control.
Washburn wants to get back to his feet but Mahrous is dominant here and he's now got Washburn 's back!
Mahrous has his arm under Washburn 's chin here. Game over son! Mahrous squeezes tightly and Washburn is forced to tap out!

After the fight, Abdul Mahrous was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
