PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Blundersome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Gramacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blundersome tries to clinch up.
Gramacho keeps the fight on the outside.
Gramacho takes one to the chin there.
Gramacho has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Gramacho avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Blundersome throws a head kick but Gramacho moves out of range.

Bobby Blundersome seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gramacho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gramacho closes the distance and clinches up with Blundersome, looking for a takedown. Gramacho pushes Blundersome against the cage but Blundersome circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bobby Blundersome has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Gramacho.

Blundersome's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Blundersome has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gramacho is proving hard to escape from.
Blundersome knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gramacho on the ground.
Blundersome throws and elbow that misses. Gramacho uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blundersome's guard. Nice move by Gramacho!

Gramacho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blundersome swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blundersome wants to get back to his feet but Gramacho passes into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

so Gramacho counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gramacho postures up in Blundersome's guard and throws a big left but Blundersome blocks it.

Blundersome is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gramacho is controlling him.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gramacho looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hugo Gramacho will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Blundersome tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Gramacho counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Blundersome is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gramacho drops back looking for a leg! Blundersome is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blundersome manages to kick Gramacho off! Gramacho jumps back into Blundersome's guard.

Blundersome wants to control the position but Gramacho says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gramacho blocks the strikes from Blundersome.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gramacho passes the guard and advances to mount!
Blundersome is working to get back to half guard.
Gramacho throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Blundersome because Gramacho loaded up on that one.
Blundersome is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Blundersome wants to control but Gramacho is having none of it.
Gramacho won't let Blundersome get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blundersome really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
I would not like to be Blundersome right now.

Hugo Gramacho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Blundersome scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gramacho manages to mount him!
