Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuberculo Meningitis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maynard's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Roy Jones - Can't Be Stopped. Max Maynard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tuberculo Meningitis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Maynard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tuberculo Meningitis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard lands a jab to the head.
Maynard moves in looking to clinch but Meningitis pushes him off.

Meningitis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Maynard is in all sorts of trouble here.
Maynard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Maynard holds on to Meningitis around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

Maynard defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Meningitis.

Meningitis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Maynard has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Maynard!
Maynard sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Meningitis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maynard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maynard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Meningitis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maynard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Meningitis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maynard controls the pace.

Meningitis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Meningitis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Meningitis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maynard gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Maynard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Meningitis sprawls well initially but Maynard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Maynard moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Meningitis.
Meningitis is not content to let Maynard control the position.

Maynard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Meningitis, who protects the arm well.
Meningitis is looking for a sweep.

Maynard is really struggling to control Meningitis but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Meningitis is trying to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Max Maynard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Meningitis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Maynard prevents it.

A head kick misses from Meningitis.
Meningitis checks the leg kick.
A combination from Maynard does no damage.
Meningitis tries to clinch but Maynard is having none of it.
Meningitis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maynard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Maynard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maynard throws a right hand that Meningitis ducks under and follows up with a left that Meningitis also avoids with ease.

Maynard has his foot on Meningitis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meningitis works his way back into a safe position though.

Meningitis drops back looking for a leg! Maynard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maynard manages to kick Meningitis off! Meningitis jumps back into Maynard's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Meningitis has gone for a leg lock! Maynard slips out almost immediately though and dives into Meningitis's guard.

Meningitis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Meningitis looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Maynard has picked Meningitis up and slammed him! Meningitis can't keep hold of the triangle and Maynard manages to pass to side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Maynard tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Meningitis is looking to regain half guard here but Maynard keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Maynard decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Meningitis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maynard to the mat! Maynard manages to get full guard.

Meningitis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maynard dives on top into guard.
Maynard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Maynard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meningitis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Maynard has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Meningitis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Maynard yanks on the arm and Meningitis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Maynard.
