Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock King Kong is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brock King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Robert Smith has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
King Kong throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Smith goes for a double leg but King Kong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as King Kong continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith is breathing heavily.

King Kong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith tries to counter by moving into the clinch but King Kong manages to circle out of the way.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but King Kong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

King Kong bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smith.

King Kong cracks a nice hook into Smith's ribs.
King Kong digs a good body shot into Smith's ribs.
King Kong throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

King Kong throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Robert Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
King Kong wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

King Kong cracks Smith with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

King Kong pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Smith back to the cage. King Kong follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
King Kong feints a jab promting Smith to slip. King Kong then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smith slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


King Kong lands with a nice body punch.
We've been informed that King Kong has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as King Kong sprawls well. King Kong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
King Kong throws a series of strikes that have Smith backpedaling.

King Kong gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
King Kong controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King Kong wants to hit a switch here but Smith passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for King Kong there!
Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

King Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smith's hands are dropping dangerously low here and King Kong connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Smith scrambles back to his feet.

King Kong looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. King Kong tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King Kong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
