PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Lizard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Granger's choice of entrance music: Seed 2.0 - Roots. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Lizard misses

and Granger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lizard is looking to stand back up but Granger counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lizard.
Lizard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Granger on the ground.

My spies in HFC Training Center inform me that Granger has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Granger cracks Lizard with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Granger immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Lizard is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Granger!

After the fight, Heath Granger was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
