Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royal Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neville Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Royal Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Neville Carter!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walsh blocks a head kick by Carter.

Walsh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Carter passes Walsh's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Carter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Walsh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carter pulls his head out easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter wants to stand up but Walsh is controlling the position.

Carter passes to side control.
Walsh tries to bench press Carter off him but Carter keeps the position.

Carter gets to mount! Walsh was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Carter is landing with some decent strikes but Walsh is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter is looking to control Walsh but Walsh is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Carter just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Carter doesn't have the hooks in and Walsh manages to turn into his guard.

Carter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walsh tries to kick Carter off in order to stand up. Carter Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Walsh gets tackled into the cage by Carter. Carter maintains the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walsh is trying to pull guard but Carter has him pressed against the cage.

Carter wants the takedown. Walsh is fighting it off but Carter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Walsh's guard against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neville Carter dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

so Walsh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Walsh is fighting to break Carter's control of his arms but Carter is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Carter is trying to keep Walsh in close.

Walsh is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Carter has his foot on Walsh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walsh works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Carter gets to mount! Walsh was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Walsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Walsh looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Walsh manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Walsh is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Walsh tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

Carter clinches up with Walsh and pushes him back against the cage.
Carter is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Carter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carter closes the distance and pushes Walsh back into the cage.
Walsh tries to pull guard but Carter holds him up against the cage and eventually Walsh drops back down to his feet.

Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carter avoids the head kick by Walsh.
Carter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carter tries to sprawl but Walsh drives through with a takedown into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Carter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
