Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ori Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doc Stuffins!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stuffins throws a leg kick which misses Jokinen's front leg but catches the back leg as Jokinen tries to avoid it.
Jokinen lands a really nice looking cross but Stuffins seems unphased.
Stuffins pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fighters circling - Jokinen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jokinen moves out of range of the body kick from Stuffins.
Stuffins tries a low kick but Jokinen avoids it.
Jokinen cracks Stuffins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Stuffins throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Stuffins gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Jokinen counters with a beautiful punch that sends Stuffins to the canvas!


Stuffins is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jokinen controls from within his opponent's guard.
Stuffins is still in real trouble! Can Jokinen finish him?
Stuffins is trying to control the position but Jokinen postures up.
Stuffins looking to control but Jokinen passes into half guard.

Stuffins seems to have recovered his senses.

Jokinen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stuffins defends it well.

Jokinen lands a leg kick that knocks Stuffins off balance momentarily.
Jokinen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jokinen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Stuffins misses with a low kick as Jokinen jumps back.

Stuffins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jokinen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jokinen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stuffins, pushing him back against the cage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Stuffins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jokinen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jokinen staying out of range there.
Stuffins fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jokinen is out of range.
Stuffins's coach down at Death Valley Training Facility was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stuffins's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stuffins.
Stuffins attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Stuffins swings for the body but Jokinen moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stuffins wants to slow Jokinen down by chopping away at his legs.

Jokinen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stuffins is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jokinen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Stuffins is squirming around, avoiding Jokinen's attempts to control the action.

Jokinen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Stuffins turns into him and now he's in Jokinen's guard.

Stuffins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jokinen - that will leave a mark!
Jokinen is stalking Stuffins. Stuffins circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Jokinen, and it's lights out! Stuffins really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
