Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rubin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pako Laine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by The Hurican-Bob Dylan. Laine is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nikke Ankara - Värifilmi. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter slips under a jab from Laine.
Carter works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Carter wants to land a leg kick but Laine is out of range.
Carter throws a combination that misses
and Laine counters with a stiff right hand.
Laine throws a hook to the side of Carter's head but Carter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Laine misses with a looping right.

Laine looks to land a left hand but Carter moved out of range nicely.
Carter throws a big counter combination but Laine scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Laine loads up on a big right hand but Carter slips the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carter checks a low kick from Laine.
Carter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Laine manages to circle out of the way.
Carter tries a head kick but it misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Laine.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Laine has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Laine counters by moving into the clinch.
Carter is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Laine swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Laine tries to pull guard but Carter won't allow it.

Laine has clasped his hands together around Carter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The strikes coming from Laine are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Laine misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carter tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Laine has hold of Carter's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Carter tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Laine cranks the arm and Carter screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Carter, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Pako Laine!

A very excited looking Pako Laine rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
