The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Romanov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kovalev as he avoids it easily.

and Kovalev counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Romanov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kovalev finds it's way round the side to connect with Romanov's head.
Romanov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kovalev.
Romanov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Anton Kovalev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Romanov.
Kovalev stalks Romanov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Romanov's face. Romanov staggers backwards, shaken.
Kovalev swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Romanov.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kovalev, as that shot connected.
Kovalev cracks a nice hook into Romanov's ribs.
Romanov has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Kovalev slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Romanov is rocked!
Kovalev thuds his right hand into Romanov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Romanov is still on wobbly legs! Can Kovalev finish him?
Anton Kovalev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kovalev fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Romanov to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Romanov looks to clinch but Kovalev throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Romanov taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
