The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pickford misses with an uppercut

and Valdez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pickford won't be happy with that.
Pickford is not content to let Valdez control the position.
Pickford is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pickford tries to get to full guard but Valdez has control of the leg.
Valdez is trying to control. Pickford wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
