Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chinua Achebe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chinua Achebe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurt Angle!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Achebe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Angle has closed the distance and engaged Achebe in a clinch.

Angle drags the fight down to the ground.
Achebe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angle swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Angle wants to stand and escape but Achebe is having none of it.
Angle pulls Achebe in close to prevent any damage.
Angle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Achebe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Achebe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Angle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Achebe is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Angle defends it well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Achebe wants to pass to mount but Angle is defending the position.
Angle tries to kick Achebe off but Achebe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Angle is not content to let Achebe control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

No joy there for Achebe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Achebe gets caught flat footed, as Angle shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Angle stands and steps away. Achebe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Achebe takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Angle clinches up against the ropes.

Angle has Achebe pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Angle pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Achebe tumbling to the mat - Angle dives into Achebe's guard.

Angle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Achebe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Achebe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Angle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Achebe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Angle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Angle gets to his feet. Achebe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Chinua Achebe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Achebe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Angle.
Angle pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Angle scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Achebe wants to control but Angle postures up.

Angle decides to stand up, so the ref orders Achebe to his feet.

Angle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Achebe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Angle is in Achebe's guard.

Angle pushes Achebe up against the ropes in a clinch.

Angle turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Angle manages to end up in side control.
Angle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Angle content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've been informed that Angle has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Kurt Angle has got the better of the ground game so far.
Achebe managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Angle.
Angle is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Achebe's shoulder. That is not cool.

You can see the frustration on Achebe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Angle shoots in and bounces Achebe off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Angle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kurt Angle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Angle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Achebe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Angle stands and steps away. Achebe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Achebe misses with a wild combination.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Achebe misses with a few strikes there.

Angle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Achebe on his heels. He'll look to pass Achebe's guard now, I'm sure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Achebe regains full guard. Nicely done.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Achebe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kurt Angle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Angle winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
