The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardon avoids a kick to the body.

Verama stuffs the takedown attempt from Hardon. Hardon gets slowly back to his feet.
Verama wants to land a leg kick but Hardon is out of range.
Hardon takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Hardon changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Verama is looking to counter the offense by Hardon and move into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been informed that Hardon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Verama digs a good body shot into Hardon's ribs.

Verama closes the distance and pushes Hardon back into the cage.

Hardon has Verama pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hardon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Verama tumbling to the mat - Hardon dives into Verama's guard.

Verama's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hardon is holding on here and Verama must be using up a lot of energy. Hardon has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Verama gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
