Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Preto tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva scores with a nice head shot.
Silva scores with a decent looking hook.
Preto takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Preto takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Preto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little jabbing left from Silva on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Preto moves forwards but Silva connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Preto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Preto ducks right into an uppercut from Silva.

Silva gets tackled into the cage by Preto. Preto maintains the clinch.

Preto jumps guard.

Preto is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
Silva engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Preto seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Preto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is looking to stand up but Preto won't let him.

Preto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Preto manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Preto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Preto tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Preto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Preto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Preto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Preto drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Preto off! Preto jumps back into Silva's guard.
Preto lands a couple of digs.
Preto stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Silva tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Preto presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Preto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva throws out a counter right but Preto avoids it with no problem.

Silva jabs Preto to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Preto closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Preto pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Preto gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.
Preto needs to keep his hands up - Silva had a free shot at his head there.

Preto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Preto has time to react.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Preto moves away.
Silva lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Soa Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
