Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Octavio Orr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cadet Russian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cadet Russian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Octavio Orr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cadet Russian!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Russian drives through and clinches with Orr against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Russian as Orr tries to tie him up.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Orr.

Russian has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Orr clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Russian is hanging on to Orr's back as he tries to escape.
Russian is riding his opponent, not letting Orr buck him off.
Orr just trying to survive but Russian is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Russian working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Russian controls the action.

Russian has the hooks in. Orr is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Orr looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Orr tries to roll but Russian sticks to his back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Orr wants to control his opponent's hands but Russian gets his hands free.
What can Orr do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Russian biding his time, looking for the opening.

Russian just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Orr is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Orr can't escape the position.

Russian goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Orr escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Russian makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Russian.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Orr wants to control from the top but Russian keeps moving.
Russian pulls Orr in close to his closed guard and prevents Orr from doing any damage or advancing position.
Russian bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Orr's guard.

Russian drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Orr dives on top into guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Russian is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Orr is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Russian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cadet Russian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Russian drives through and clinches with Orr against the cage.

Russian has clasped his hands together around Orr's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Russian is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Orr will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Russian looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Orr is avoiding damage well.
Russian creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Orr is trying to buck Russian off.
Orr can't do much from the bottom here.
Russian scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Orr to see if he's OK.
Orr wants to control but Russian postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Orr is trying to get back to half guard.

Russian thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Orr seems a little lost for a moment, as Russian dominates the positioning.
Orr prevents Russian from improving position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Russian lands a decent elbow from side control.
Orr trying to remain calm as Russian controls from the top position.

A close second round but Cadet Russian will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Orr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Russian swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Orr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Orr wants to get back to his feet but Russian is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Russian feints and as Orr raises his hands in defense, Russian changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Orr has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Russian has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Russian has Orr pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Russian pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Orr tumbling to the mat - Russian dives into Orr's guard.
Russian takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Russian not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Russian stays in close to Orr's body and controls the position.
Russian working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Orr looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Russian only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Orr moves in looking to clinch but Russian pushes him off.
Russian throws a head kick that Orr semi-blocks.
Orr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Russian lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Orr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Russian swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Russian rushes Orr and presses him up against the cage.
Orr pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Russian has Orr pressed against the cage, preventing Orr from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Russian jumps guard.
Russian will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Orr is looking to work some ground and pound but Russian has wrist control.

Cadet Russian comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Russian has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
