Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Chase moves away from the strike by Jimenez.
Jimenez scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Some wild striking there from Jimenez.
Jimenez throws a head kick that misses.
Jimenez throws a hook but Chase avoids it easily.
Jimenez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chase was well out of range. Poor timing from Jimenez.
Jimenez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jimenez loads up on a big right hand but Chase slips the punch.
Jimenez misses with a double jab.
Jimenez moves in looking to clinch but Chase pushes him off.
Jimenez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chase as he avoids it easily.
Jimenez wants to clinch up but Chase keeps it at a distance.
Chase avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chase is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jimenez throws a right hand that Chase ducks under and follows up with a left that Chase also avoids with ease.
Chase uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jimenez.
Jimenez shoots in for a double leg but Chase sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jimenez throws a jab but it's blocked by Chase .
Chase looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jimenez!
Chase get's back to his feet.
Jimenez feints and as Chase raises his hands in defense, Jimenez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jimenez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Chase wants to get back to his feet but Jimenez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Chase has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jimenez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Jimenez doesn't manage to clinch there - Chase circles away.
Jimenez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jimenez misses with a two punch combination.
Chase shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jimenez pinned against the cage. Jimenez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jimenez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sonny Jimenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimenez wants to clinch up but Chase keeps it at a distance.
Jimenez throws out a loose jab but Chase uses good head movement to avoid it.

Chase swats away the attempt to clinch by Jimenez.
Jimenez throws a nice looking combination but Chase bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chase keeps the fight on the outside.
Jimenez misses with an uppercut.
Jimenez tries a head kick but it misses.
A punch combination from Jimenez misses.
Jimenez misses with a series of wild punches.
Chase shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chase was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Chase get's back to his feet.
Chase shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jimenez's guard.
Jimenez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chase gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chase trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jimenez's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Johnny Chase will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chase uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jimenez.

and Chase cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Chase stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jimenez misses with a combination
and Chase counters with a shoot takedown. Jimenez fights it but they end up in guard.
Chase gets to his feet. Jimenez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A cross from Jimenez lands.
Chase circles away from the clinch attempt
and Chase counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jimenez is pressing down on Chase 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Chase preventing the sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jimenez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Chase doesn't defend quickly enough and Jimenez has managed to lock this one up! Can Chase escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jimenez on a fantastic submission victory.
