PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Flick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Slovakia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flick comes into the arena with Hank Williams Jr- I'd love to knock the he'll out of you blaring out of the sound system. Alexander Slovakia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slovakia looking to score a takedown here. Flick is defending well but Slovakia drives through and ends up in Flick's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's time! Flick's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Flick looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slovakia is fending him off so far but Flick persists. Nope, Slovakia circles away and we're back to standing.
Slovakia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Slovakia leaves Flick with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Flick looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Slovakia is trying to stick to Flick's back but Flick is turning into Slovakia . He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Slovakia 's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Flick.

Flick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Slovakia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Flick, into his guard.

Flick fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Slovakia on the side of the head.

Flick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Slovakia walks away with a smile on his face. Flick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Slovakia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slovakia wants it to stay on the feet.

Flick has gone for a leg lock! Slovakia slips out almost immediately though and dives into Flick's guard.

Slovakia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Flick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slovakia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slovakia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Slovakia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
