The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sands fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Griffin.
Nice body punch from Griffin.
Griffin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sands.
A jab from Griffin misses.
Sands bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Sands swings for the body but Griffin moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Griffin! But no joy.
Sands moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Griffin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Griffin slips a straight right by Sands.
A jab from Griffin does it's job there.
It looks like Landon Sands has been cut.
Sands takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Griffin throws a lazy right hand but Sands sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Landon Sands seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin throws a body punch but Sands moves out of range.
Griffin drives through with a takedown into Sands's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Griffin throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sands works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Griffin throws a big right hand that misses.
Griffin stops Sands from standing up.
Sands working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Griffin.
Griffin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Griffin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Griffin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Landon Sands's cut is getting worse.
Sands keeping moving, preventing Griffin from controlling successfully.
Sands is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Griffin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sands's head.
Jeez, Landon Sands's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Landon Sands's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
