The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farrell fails with the takedown
and Murphy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Murphy, as that shot connected.
Murphy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Murphy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Farrell moves away.
Farrell is looking to counter punch.
Murphy lands with a nice body punch.

Farrell gets tackled into the cage by Murphy. Murphy maintains the clinch.
Murphy pushes Farrell back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Farrell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Murphy to keep the fight standing.

Farrell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Murphy wants to pass the guard but Farrell is keeping the position.

Murphy is pushing down on Farrell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Farrell is fighting to maintain full guard but Murphy has managed to sneak the leg through.
Oh Farrell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murphy lands with a punch from half guard.

You can see the frustration on Farrell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A big shot lands for Murphy! That's hurt Farrell! Will he recover? Murphy fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Michael Murphy decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
