The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anagnos paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Anagnos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hughes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Anagnos drops an elbow to the side of Hughes's head.

Anagnos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Anagnos lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hughes is trying to control but can't.
Anagnos stalling.
Hughes throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hughes wants to control but Anagnos is keeping busy.
Anagnos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anagnos lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Hughes quite badly. Hughes pulls Anagnos in close trying to recover. Anagnos postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Hughes on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Hughes doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
