Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zachery Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simanjuntak John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zachery Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simanjuntak John!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

John gets a double leg takedown into Guy's guard.
John is looking to advance position but Guy has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Guy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guy trying to control but he's not successful this time.
John is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
John is looking to get to half guard.
Guy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John is bucking up trying to escape but Guy cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
John is trying desperately to improve position.

Guy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… John is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by John and Guy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
John really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Guy decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Guy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

John instigates a clinch.
John is trying to pull guard but Guy has him pressed against the cage.
John is looking to control Guy's arms but Guy gets an underhook and turns him. Now John has his back to the cage.

Guy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

John looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guy keeping hold of John's head, controlling as best he can.
Guy is trying to get back to full guard.
Guy gets full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guy wants to sweep here but John controlling him for the moment.
Guy has John pulled in close to control his posture.
John must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
John wants to control from the top but Guy keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Guy pulls John in to control the position.
John trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Guy slips a jab from John.

John pushes Guy up against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
John is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Guy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. John avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zachery Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
John tries for a takedown. No joy.
John jumps guard but Guy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

John breaks the clinch.
Guy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as John sprawls well. John wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Guy gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Guy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Simanjuntak John will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A nice inside leg kick there by John. That's going to slow Guy down.
Guy shoots in but no luck this time.
John throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Guy fails with the takedown
and John counters with a three punch combo that has Guy backing up. Guy nods at John to acknowledge the strikes.


Guy is rocked!
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from John! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Simanjuntak John!
