Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Rudolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and GW Persson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Rudolph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, GW Persson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rudolph keeps the fight on the outside.
Rudolph takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rudolph really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rudolph moves into the clinch.

Rudolph breaks from the clinch.
Persson tries to clinch but Rudolph is having none of it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Persson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rudolph prevents Persson from breaking the clinch.
Rudolph tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Rudolph fails to pull guard.
Persson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Persson lands an uppercut.
Persson wants to get back to striking at distance but Rudolph won't allow it.

Rudolph tries to land knees in the clinch but Persson avoids the damage to the body.
Persson just leaning against Rudolph, taking a breather.

Persson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Persson swats away the attempt to clinch by Rudolph.
Rudolph misses with a takedown attempt - Persson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Persson tries to bum rush Rudolph with a series of wild strikes but Rudolph uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Persson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rudolph misses with a wild combination.
Rudolph shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Rudolph. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Persson tries to clinch but Rudolph moves away
and Rudolph counters with a flying knee. Nice.

and Rudolph counters with a nice body shot.
Persson looks gassed!
Persson closes the distance but Rudolph moves to the side
and Rudolph counters with a nice body shot.
Rudolph lands a head shot.
Rudolph lands with a kick to the temple. Persson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rudolph lands with a slapping head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rudolph.
Rudolph closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Rudolph feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Persson keeping moving, preventing Rudolph from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rudolph controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Persson wants to sweep but no luck.
Rudolph pushing down on Persson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Persson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rudolph landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Rudolph is tying to control. Persson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rudolph in particular looking to stall.

Rudolph breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Persson misses with an uppercut. Rudolph saw that one coming.

and Rudolph moves into the clinch.
Persson is breathing heavily.
Rudolph is pushing Persson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Rudolph is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Persson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rudolph breaks the clinch.
Persson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Persson throws a combination that misses

and Rudolph counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rudolph.
Persson tries to score a body lock takedown but Rudolph shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Persson wants to break free but Rudolph has control.
Persson is trying to break free.
Persson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rudolph fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rudolph is looking to clinch.
Persson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Rudolph counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Persson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Persson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rudolph is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Persson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Persson tries to clinch but Rudolph moves away

and Rudolph counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rudolph.
Rudolph trying to control but Persson is working from the bottom.
Rudolph stands and throws Persson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Rudolph bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Persson is trying to get back to half guard.
Persson stops Rudolph from passing to mount.
You can see the frustration on Persson's face as Rudolph controls the position.
Rudolph is looking to take a break and control but Persson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Persson being controlled for a moment.

Rudolph decides to stand up, so the ref orders Persson to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Persson misses with a double jab

and Rudolph moves into the clinch.
Rudolph lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Rudolph scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Rudolph jumps guard but Persson stands there with Rudolph around his waist. Rudolph gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rudolph is trying to keep Persson in close.

Persson tries to stand but Rudolph is controlling from the bottom.
Persson looking to sit in guard and control but Rudolph gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Persson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rudolph wants to control from the top but Persson keeps moving.

Rudolph decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Persson, up you get!
Persson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Rudolph.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Persson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Rudolph counters by moving into the clinch.

Rudolph pulls Persson into guard.
GW Persson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chuck Rudolph is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Persson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rudolph works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chuck Rudolph showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rudolph has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
