Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Didier Leroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leroy shoots in and gets a takedown into Charles's guard.
Charles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Leroy is one step ahead there.

Leroy stands and steps away. Charles gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Charles shoots for a double leg takedown but Leroy sprawls well. He's pushed Charles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Leroy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Charles looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Charles tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Charles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leroy on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leroy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Charles defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Charles has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Leroy has passed into side control.

Leroy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Charles, who protects the arm well.
Charles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Leroy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

As Leroy looks to move away, Charles throws a big counter combo but Leroy just gets out of the way.

Charles manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Leroy on his heels. He'll look to pass Leroy's guard now, I'm sure.
