Sandow fails with a takedown attempt.
Sandow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meridius sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sandow somewhat.
Meridius is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sandow's half guard.
Meridius looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meridius is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sandow has managed to free his arm - good work.

Sandow has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Meridius. Oh but Sandow has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Meridius goes limp - he's gone! Sandow jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

After winning the bout, Damien Sandow thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
