Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ace Newbury!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Newbury shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Newbury showed some decent athleticism there.
Newbury missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Newbury is trying to work for a kimura but Horn is defending well.
Horn gets back to full guard.
Newbury loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Horn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Newbury has his foot on Horn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Horn works his way back into a safe position though.

Newbury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Newbury has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Horn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Newbury defends it easily.
Horn seems keen to control Newbury's posture.

Newbury wants to stand and escape but instead Horn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Newbury turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Newbury manages to end up in side control.

Ace Newbury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jared Horn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ace Newbury is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Horn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well Newbury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
