The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Austin takes the fight into the clinch.
Downs has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Austin after a bit of a struggle.
Austin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Downs or not.
Downs tries for a takedown but Austin manages to get underhooks.

Austin gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Downs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Austin is working away from the top position though.
Austin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Downs enables Austin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Downs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Downs reaches up to try and control the position but Austin seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Downs rolls and tries to escape and now Austin has his back!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Austin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Downs is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Austin. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Austin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Austin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Austin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
