Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Laatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Laatta will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laatta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Laatta is stalling here. Drago is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Laatta seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Drago has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Laatta tries to bench press Drago off him but Drago keeps the position.
Laatta gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Laatta is looking to improve his position.
Drago wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laatta keeps working.
Laatta missing with punches from the bottom.

Laatta wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laatta is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Laatta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Drago is working away from the top position though.
Laatta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Drago shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Laatta moves into the clinch.

Drago gets control of Laatta's arms and successfully pulls guard. Drago will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Drago has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Laatta doesn't defend quickly enough and Drago has managed to lock this one up! Can Laatta escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Drago on a fantastic submission victory.
