Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Gortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Chua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chua looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Chua tries to pass to full mount but Gortez defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gortez looking for submissions off his back.

Chua is working for a submission of some sort.
Chua throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gortez trying to control from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Chua lands a nice short elbow.
Chua prevents Gortez from improving his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Chua throws a series of punches but Gortez avoids them all with ease.
Chua looks gassed!

Gortez feints and as Chua raises his hands in defense, Gortez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chua wants to sweep but no luck.
Chua trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Gortez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Chua looking for a guillotine here but Gortez defends easily.

Chua looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Chua wants to get back to his feet but Gortez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Chua lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chua.
Gortez moves out of range as Chua strikes.

Chua throws a solid leg kick but Gortez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Chua.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gortez.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gortez in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Gortez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chua has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chua takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gortez trying to control the action but Chua is working from the bottom.
Chua is looking to regain half guard here but Gortez keeps moving and retains side control.

Gortez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gortez prevents Chua from escaping the position.

Gortez works to advance to full mount. Chua defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Chua tries to reverse the position but Gortez maintains control.

It looks like Rashad Chua has been cut.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gortez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Chua is rocked!

That has opened up Rashad Chua's cut even more.
Gortez lands a nice shot to the head.
Chua is still in real trouble! Can Gortez finish him?

The cut above Rashad Chua's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rashad Chua's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
