The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Pecilli does it's job there.
Pecilli is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pecilli's waist but Pecilli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.

Pecilli is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pecilli can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Griffin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pecilli defends well and Griffin ends up having to push Pecilli into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
