Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bronson Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Slam - By: Onyx. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bronson Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson walks into a jab.
Hughes checks a leg kick.
Jackson lands with a nice combination. Hughes backs away looking to recover.
Hughes walks into a straight right hand from Jackson.
Sloppy strikes from Hughes. Those never looked like landing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hughes is defended easily by Jackson.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at School of Hard Knocks (Elite Training for $225) in the buildup to the fight.
Hughes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jackson avoids the body shot from Hughes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Good leg kick by Jackson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hughes wants to land a leg kick but Jackson is out of range.
Jackson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hughes throws an overhand right that lands on Jackson's shoulder, as Jackson tries to avoid the shot.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

Jackson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hughes misses with an uppercut. Jackson saw that one coming.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Hughes moves out of range easily.
Danga de danga de dang - Jackson scores with a four punch combination!
Sloppy strikes from Hughes. Those never looked like landing.
Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it.
Hughes looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely.
Nice straight punches there by Hughes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hughes.

Hughes throws the left hand but Jackson avoids the punch easily.
Jackson scores with a shot to the body.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hughes dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mike Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bronson Hughes.

Jackson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hughes takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hughes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hughes.
Hughes throws a hook to the side of Jackson's head but Jackson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Mike Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jackson slips a straight right by Hughes.
Hughes takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Jackson works over Hughes's head and body with a nice combination.
Jackson lands a nice hook to Hughes's body. Hughes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hughes working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Hughes is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Hughes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hughes not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Hughes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jackson sees it coming and defends easily.

Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hughes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hughes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hughes connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.
Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.

Hughes is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hughes wants to pass to mount but Jackson is defending the position.
Hughes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hughes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.
Hughes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Jackson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jackson feints and then cracks Hughes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hughes down.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hughes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Hughes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hughes on the ground.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hughes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hughes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hughes is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Oh Jackson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jackson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hughes scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Jackson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Hughes can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bronson Hughes!
Bronson Hughes took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'It was great to get back in the cage. I'm looking forward to more fights, and I'll be looking to finish. Always.'.
