Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andy Berkowitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monk Eastman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Berkowitz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Elephants - Them Crooked Vultures . Andy Berkowitz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Berkowitz.
Berkowitz throws a leg kick

and Eastman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Eastman scoring with punches to the head and body.
Eastman cracks Berkowitz with a solid left hand.
Berkowitz has momentary wrist control but Eastman slips an elbow through the middle.
Eastman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Berkowitz controls Eastman momentarily but Eastman frees himself.
Eastman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berkowitz is trying to hold Eastman in close to prevent damage but Eastman has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berkowitz is not content to let Eastman control the position.

Eastman is taking a breather. Berkowitz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Eastman maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Berkowitz could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Eastman has cracked it and Berkowitz is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Eastman!
