The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock tries to clinch up but Artist circles away and keeps his distance.

Artist's coaches at 3Band MMA ($500/week) have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Rock shoots in looking for a takedown. Artist tries to sprawl out of it but Rock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Artist manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Artist tries to avoid it but Rock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Artist to the ground. Artist escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
