Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Francis Solis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alpha Male!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solis wants to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Solis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Solis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Male has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Solis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Solis rushes Male and presses him up against the cage.

Solis jumps guard but Male stands there with Solis around his waist. Solis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Male is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Solis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Solis wants a takedown but no success here.

Solis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Male regains guard.
Solis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Solis throws a big right hand that misses.
Male is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Solis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Male scores with a couple of nice shots.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Male in particular looking to stall.
Male lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Solis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Male on the ground.

Solis is defending against the submission attempts here by Male.
Male has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Male is keen to just control but Solis is a slippery customer.

Solis looking for submissions off his back.

Male is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Solis is just riding it out for now. Male eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Solis actively working from the bottom here.
Solis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Solis is looking to improve his position.
Male looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Male seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Solis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice takedown defense from Male. No joy for Solis on that attempt.
Male doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alpha Male dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Male keeps the fight on the outside.
Male wants to counter the offense by Solis and move into the clinch position.
Solis tries to clinch up but Male circles away and keeps his distance.
Male is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Solis closes the distance and clinches.
Solis is trying to pull guard but Male has him pressed against the cage.
Male wants to break the clinch but can't.
Solis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Male walks away with a smile on his face. Solis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solis tries to clinch up.
Male swats away the attempt to clinch by Solis.
Male throws a counter combo.
Male has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Male keeps the fight on the outside.
Solis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Male manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Solis misses with a takedown attempt - Male sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francis Solis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Solis moves in looking to clinch but Male pushes him off.

Solis is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Male drops down looking for an ankle pick but Solis pulls his leg out and moves away.

Solis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Male paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Solis tries to clinch but Male is having none of it.
Solis fails in his attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Solis looking for a takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Male wants to take the fight to the mat but Solis manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Male lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Solis wants to improve his position but Male is controlling well.
Male seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Male trying to control from half guard but Solis is working away.
Solis is looking to improve his position.
Solis won't allow Male to pass to mount.
Male uses his free foot to push down on Solis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Solis.
Male cracks Solis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Solis working to try and regain half guard.
Male lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Solis hang on?


Solis is rocked!

Oh Solis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Male! That's really hurt Solis and he's turned his back - Male keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Male jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alpha Male!
