Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between WAH WIE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for WAH WIE has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, WAH WIE!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
WIE tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.

WIE pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

WIE clinches.
WIE wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
WIE wants to break free but Jones has control.

WIE pulls Jones into guard.
WIE keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but WIE is retaining full guard.

WIE looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
WIE wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break WIE's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jones postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

WIE had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. WIE Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
WIE tries to get the hooks in deep but Jones pushed the leg off.
WIE avoiding Jones 's attempts to control his hands.
Jones prevents WIE from getting a body triangle.
Jones is really stuck here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

WIE is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jones has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Jones prevents WIE from getting a body triangle.
Jones is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones trying to control the position but WIE manages to sink in the hooks.
WIE scores with punches to the body.
WIE wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.

The referee stands the fighters back up. WAH WIE just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
WIE misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from WIE. WIE gets slowly back to his feet.

WIE moves into the clinch successfully.
WIE is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
WIE has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for WAH WIE. That's going to take a lot out of him.

WIE gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jones regains guard.
WIE wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing WIE from controlling successfully.
WIE landing some decent shots from guard.
WIE is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
WIE trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

WAH WIE dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jones shoots in for a takedown but WIE shows good takedown defense.
Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
WIE misses with a few strikes there.
WIE doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Nice sprawl there from WIE as Jones shoots in.
A head kick misses from WIE.
WAH WIE is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A decent looking cross lands there for WIE.
Jones walks into a left hand.

WIE shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
WIE would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.

WIE stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

WIE closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - WIE lands in his opponent's guard.
WIE wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones is trying to keep WIE in close.
WIE controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
WIE trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
WIE is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
WIE lands a couple of digs.
WIE trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
WIE trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard.
WIE trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
WIE misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
WIE fails with the takedown.
WIE shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for WAH WIE. That's going to take a lot out of him.

WIE rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
WIE has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.
Jones creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
WIE tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.

WIE scores a takedown into full mount!
Jones tries to lock up and control but WIE gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
WIE looking to control and managing it successfully.

Jones defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from WIE.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

WAH WIE dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


WIE will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
WIE misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

WIE fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones misses with a punch to the body.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for WIE on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for WAH WIE. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Excellent takedown into side control there by WIE.
Jones looks to move to half guard but instead WIE has passed into mount! Damn!
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

WIE has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding WIE's attempts to control the action.
WIE with the ground and pound from mount.
WIE can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
WIE scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
WIE trying to control but Jones is having none of it.
Jones can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A nice elbow there by WIE.
WIE connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
WIE can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
WIE punishing his opponent with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
WIE controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A nice elbow there by WIE.
WIE cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
WIE with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jones tries to lock up and control but WIE gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
WIE tries to control but Jones wriggling away.
WIE is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jon Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
WAH WIE is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
WIE wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
WAH WIE showed his dominance in that final round.
Well WIE has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
