Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boss Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Westbrook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Paul Westbrook enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Boss Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Westbrook!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Boxer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boxer sets himself, and Westbrook steps forward looking for the clinch! Boxer avoids it this time.
Westbrook thows a left - swing and a miss!

Westbrook drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Boxer is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Westbrook dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here as Westbrook stalls from top position.
Westbrook is working Boxer over with some ground and pound from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boxer is trying to get back to his feet.
Westbrook passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Boxer!

Westbrook swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Boxer is now in Westbrook's guard. A big mistake from Westbrook there, giving up the dominant position!

Westbrook has Boxer pulled in close to control his posture.
Boxer prevents Westbrook from getting back to his feet.

Let's hope that Westbrook has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Westbrook is on top in guard.

Westbrook trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Westbrook thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Westbrook is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Boxer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Boxer trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Westbrook engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Boxer wants to stand and escape but Westbrook is having none of it.

Boxer is looking to stand back up but Westbrook counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Boxer.
Westbrook with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Boxer is in trouble now - Westbrook has advanced to mount!
Westbrook tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boxer is bucking up trying to escape but Westbrook cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Westbrook lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Westbrook gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Boxer defending well as Westbrook loads up on a big left hand.
Jab, jab by Boxer - just one landing.

Westbrook rushes Boxer and presses him up against the cage.
Westbrook stalling the fight.
Westbrook tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Westbrook lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boxer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Westbrook lands with a left to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Westbrook manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Westbrook dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Boxer lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Westbrook fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boxer to the ground. Westbrook is now in Boxer's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Boxer manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Westbrook is looking to take this one to the mat.
Boxer is trying to force a seperation but Westbrook has the dominant position.

Westbrook pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Westbrook gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Boxer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Westbrook takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


It looks like Paul Westbrook has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boxer has his takedown stuffed

and Westbrook moves into the clinch.
Westbrook changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Boxer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Boss Boxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Westbrook.

Boxer tries to sprawl but Westbrook drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Boxer kicks Westbrook off and gets back to his feet.

Westbrook will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Westbrook is breathing heavily.
Boxer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Westbrook sprawls well. Westbrook wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boxer gets slowly back to his feet.
Boss Boxer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Westbrook has Boxer up against the cage in a clinch.
Our sources have told us that Boxer has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Westbrook breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boxer shoots in but Westbrook avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Boxer scores with a decent looking hook.
Boxer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Westbrook has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Westbrook tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Boss Boxer is winning the standup battle so far.

Westbrook pushes Boxer up against the cage in a clinch.
Westbrook wants a takedown but no success here.
Westbrook with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Westbrook tries to pull guard but Boxer holds him up against the cage and eventually Westbrook drops back down to his feet.
Boxer has had enough of the clinch but Westbrook keeps him there for the moment.
Westbrook wants to take the fight to the mat but Boxer manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Westbrook jumps guard but Boxer turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Boxer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Boxer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Westbrook prevents Boxer from breaking the clinch.
Boxer tries to circle away but Westbrook has him pinned against the cage.

Boxer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Westbrook looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Left hook, right uppercut from Boxer.
Boxer tests Westbrook's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Boxer scores with a one two! Westbrook had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Boxer gets caught napping as Westbrook dives in and scores a takedown. Boxer manages to retain guard.
Paul Westbrook has got the better of the ground game so far.
Westbrook sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Westbrook distracts Boxer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Westbrook forces his way into half guard.
Westbrook looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boxer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Boxer scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Westbrook manages to mount him!
Westbrook lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boss Boxer dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Paul Westbrook's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Boxer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boss Boxer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Westbrook gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Boxer's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Westbrook has Boxer pressed against the cage, preventing Boxer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Boxer looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Boxer is trying to break the clinch but Westbrook is controlling him.
Westbrook effectively controlling the action here.

Westbrook pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Westbrook counters with a left and a right that stings Boxer.

Westbrook drives through and clinches with Boxer against the cage.
Boxer tries to break free but Westbrook pushes him back against the cage.

Boxer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Westbrook has him pressed against the cage.

Boxer breaks the clinch.

Westbrook gets a clinch.
Westbrook jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Boxer walks away with a smile on his face. Westbrook gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Boxer throws a left and a right that both miss

and Westbrook counters with a nice double leg into side control. Boxer won't be happy with that.
Boxer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Westbrook lands a big elbow.
Westbrook tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Westbrook throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Boxer has his hands clasped together but Westbrook breaks the hold and Boxer is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Westbrook!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paul Westbrook!
