Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claus Baldemnic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Claus Baldemnic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Claus Baldemnic!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Baldemnic has Bones up against the cage in a clinch.
Bones prevents a body shot from Baldemnic.

Baldemnic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bones throws a head kick but Baldemnic moves out of range.
Baldemnic scores with a punch to the head.

Bones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Baldemnic's half guard.
Baldemnic tries to kick Bones off but Bones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Baldemnic keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
We've been hearing that Bones has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Baldemnic has a hand on Bones's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Bones takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Baldemnic wants to hold on but Bones pushes him away.

Baldemnic is desperately trying to improve his position but Bones has a good base and remains in mount.
Bones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bones prevents Baldemnic from getting the reversal.
Baldemnic looks winded!
Bones lands a big elbow.

Bones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Bones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Baldemnic working to try and regain half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baldemnic tries to hold on but Bones pushes him away.

Bones looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Baldemnic is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Baldemnic tries to reverse the position but Bones maintains control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bones sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Baldemnic tries to lock up and control but Bones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bones dominating with strikes here.
Bones looking to control but Baldemnic is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Baldemnic tries to hold on but Bones pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Baldemnic slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Baldemnic is looking for a sweep. Bones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Baldemnic keeps trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bones shoots for a double leg takedown but Baldemnic sprawls well. He's pushed Bones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bones moves into the clinch successfully.
Baldemnic lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bones trying to control the position but instead, Baldemnic has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bones into the cage.

Baldemnic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baldemnic throws a body shot but no joy.

Baldemnic forces Bones back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baldemnic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baldemnic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bones slips under a jab from Baldemnic.
Bones could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bones is defended easily by Baldemnic.
Baldemnic unleashes a big counter combination but Bones bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Bones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Baldemnic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bones, pushing him back against the cage.
Bones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Baldemnic just stands there and leans against the cage.
Baldemnic gets underhooks to prevent Bones's takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bones is trying to break the clinch but Baldemnic has him pressed against the cage.
Baldemnic lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bones backwards.

Bones feints and as Baldemnic raises his hands in defense, Bones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jimmy Bones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bones wants to control from the top but Baldemnic keeps moving.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baldemnic can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Baldemnic throws a shot from downtown. Bones moves away and avoids it.
Bones misses with a takedown attempt - Baldemnic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Baldemnic throws a right hand that Bones ducks under and follows up with a left that Bones also avoids with ease.
Bones thuds a left hand into Baldemnic's body.
Baldemnic throws a nice looking combination but Bones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Baldemnic as he jumps to the side.
Bones cracks a nice hook into Baldemnic's ribs.
Claus Baldemnic seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Baldemnic in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Bones tries to counter with a takedown but Baldemnic is quick to defend against it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Baldemnic enables Bones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Baldemnic manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bones won't allow Baldemnic to get back to his feet.

Claus Baldemnic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Baldemnic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
