And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golovkin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Solis's guard.
Solis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Golovkin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Golovkin wants to pass the guard but Solis is keeping the position.
Golovkin 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Solis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solis trying to keep a closed guard but Golovkin is proving a slippery customer.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Golovkin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Solis looking for a sweep. Not yet Solis, not yet.
Solis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Golovkin on the ground.
Golovkin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Golovkin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Golovkin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Solis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Golovkin rushes Solis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Solis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Solis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Golovkin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The referee calls for Golovkin to work.

Golovkin is pressed up against the cage. Solis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Golovkin down to the mat. Golovkin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francis Solis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gennady Golovkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Golovkin misses with a few strikes there.
Solis tried to score with a low kick but Golovkin checks it.
Golovkin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Solis counters with a left and a right that stings Golovkin .
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Golovkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Solis swivels and escapes.
Golovkin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Solis's head.
No joy there for Golovkin , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Golovkin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Solis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Golovkin is in Solis's guard.

Solis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Golovkin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Solis.
