Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Lange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Rock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Orlando Lange!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lange as he avoids it easily.
Lange misses with a body kick.
Rock shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A thudding body kick lands there by Rock!

and Rock counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lange's knee momentarily.
Rock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lange tries to avoid it but Rock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lange to the ground. Lange escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Rock. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rock darts in and clinches Lange up against the cage.
Rock jumps guard but Lange stands there with Rock around his waist. Rock gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lange is trying to pull guard but Rock turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lange shoots in but Rock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rock appears to be looking for a big counter.
Rock dives in and grabs Lange's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lange pushes down on Rock's head and hops out.
Rock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lange tries to avoid it but Rock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lange to the ground. Lange escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Rock counters with a one-two to the body.
Rock is breathing heavily.

Lange feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lange lands a couple of elbows.
Lange passes Rock's left leg - he's now in half guard.
My spies in Cozad MMA Las Vegas inform me that Lange has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lange is looking for a kimura but Rock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lange to get the leverage.

Lange has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rock is proving hard to escape from.

Rock is striking but Lange is not phased and passes to half guard.

Orlando Lange dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lange shoots in looking for a takedown. Rock tries to sprawl out of it but Lange keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rock has managed to clinch.
Rock lands a good knee to the midsection. Lange won't want to take too many of those.
Rock tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rock throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Lange shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rock but Rock pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nice straight punches there by Rock. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rock.
Lange is breathing heavily.
Rock cracks Lange with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Rock lands a big head kick that sends Lange tumbling to the mat! Rock takes a step backwards and waves Lange back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Orlando Lange has been cut.

Rock closes the distance and clinches.
Lange is still on wobbly legs! Can Rock finish him?
Rock blocks an uppercut.
Lange is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rock gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Alex Rock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orlando Lange.

Rock pulls guard successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lange drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lange jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lange stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rock swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rock not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lange is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rock is looking for a triangle but Lange pushes his legs off easily.

Lange seems to have recovered his senses.

Lange thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lange is looking to take a break and control but Rock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lange decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Lange closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rock did well to prevent Lange getting side control.

Rock tries to kick Lange off in order to stand up. Lange Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Lange decides to stand back up. Lange steps back and let's Rock get back to his feet.
Lange shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rock defends it nicely.
Rock tries to clinch up.
Rock takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lange throws a leg kick but Rock sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Lange fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Lange persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lange tries to stand and escape but Rock is controlling the position.

Rock lands a brutal head kick. Lange looks out on his feet and Rock throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
