Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Petey Tarfel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demo Mauler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mauler shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tarfel is looking to improve his position.
Mauler has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Canadian Top Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Mauler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tarfel keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mauler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tarfel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tarfel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tarfel!

Mauler tries to bench press Tarfel off him but Tarfel keeps the position.

Tarfel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mauler is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tarfel yanks on the arm and Mauler is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tarfel.

After the fight, Petey Tarfel was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
