Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Paul told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Marcus Davis has been cut.
Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Paul tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg.
Paul pushes Davis off looking to stand but Davis dives back in and keeps control.
Paul has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at ReVoLuT!oN !sL@nD GYM. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paul can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis uses his free foot to push down on Paul's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Paul.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul is controlling an arm, preventing Davis from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Paul is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Davis locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Paul is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marcus Davis!
A very excited looking Marcus Davis made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
John Paul was interviewed post fight and said 'God bless'.
