Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eugenio Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparrow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoover's waist but Hoover gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sparrow off to one side.
Sparrow shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoover tries to sprawl out of it but Sparrow keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoover manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Eugenio Hoover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Sparrow.

Hoover throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sparrow dives in and grabs Hoover's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoover pushes down on Sparrow's head and hops out.

Sparrow tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoover swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sparrow shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hoover but Hoover pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hoover was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Sparrow tries to keep at a distance but Hoover has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hoover drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sparrow pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hoover swings for the body but Sparrow moves out of range.

Hoover manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Hoover is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sparrow presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hoover ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hoover no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hoover has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sparrow is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Sparrow is trying to break the clinch but Hoover has him pressed against the cage.
Hoover changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sparrow fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hoover moves into range and clinches up with Sparrow.
Hoover is pressed up against the cage. Sparrow has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hoover down to the mat. Hoover avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sparrow shoots in and drives through. Hoover sprawls well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hoover has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hoover throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hoover is pulling down on Sparrow's head. It's preventing any offense from Sparrow, at least for the moment.

Hoover scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sparrow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoover sprawls well. Hoover wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sparrow gets slowly back to his feet.
Hoover appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hoover rushes Sparrow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sparrow closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Hoover out cold! Hoover corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
