PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sellus Gravius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mellow Mood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gravius might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Morrowind. On his way into the cage it seems that Sellus Gravius has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sellus Gravius seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mellow Mood!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Mood coming out on top.

Mood closes the distance and pushes Gravius back into the cage.
Gravius tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mood avoids it.
Mood is looking to control Gravius's arms but Gravius gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mood has his back to the cage.

Gravius manages to break the clinch.
Gravius blocks a leg kick.
Gravius throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Mood counter with a right hand.
Gravius fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mood is out of range.
Mood throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gravius takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gravius tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mood was well out of range. Poor timing from Gravius.
Mood throws a fast counter high kick but Gravius manages to duck under it in time.
Gravius swings away with a body shot that misses
and Mood counters with a right hand to the body.
Gravius drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gravius is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mood.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gravius lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mood circles away quickly and effectively.
A swing and a miss from Gravius.
Mood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gravius moves away.
Mood throws a nice inside leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mood rushes Gravius and presses him up against the cage.
Mood displaying some good clinch control by pressing Gravius up against the cage.
Mood makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Gravius's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Gravius taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Gravius gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Mood working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Mood tries a body shot but Gravius blocks it.

Gravius escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gravius throws a head kick but Mood moves out of range.
Mood throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gravius throws a jab when Mood was well out of range.
Gravius looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mood rushes Gravius and presses him up against the cage.
Mood misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gravius tries a body shot but Mood blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A left hand lands to the body for Gravius.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Gravius.
Mood doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mood can't find room to land a body shot as Gravius controls the action.
Mood lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gravius backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gravius lands a right hand.
Mood throws a head punch that misses.
A right hook to the body lands for Gravius.
Mood tries to land a knee to the head but Gravius blocks with his arms.

Gravius manages to break the clinch.
Mood throws a nice looking combination but Gravius bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gravius misses the jab.
Mood appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Gravius. That snapped Mood's head back.

It looks like Mellow Mood has been cut.
Gravius throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Gravius! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Sellus Gravius!
Sellus Gravius decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
