Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miller Gozu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Luna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller Gozu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miller Gozu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andres Luna!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gozu misses the jab.
Gozu doesn't manage to clinch there - Luna circles away.
Luna jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Luna with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Luna throws a strike but Gozu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gozu wants to work for an arm triangle but Luna is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gozu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gozu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Luna does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gozu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gozu is keen to just control but Luna is a slippery customer.
Gozu is really struggling to control Luna but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Luna will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Luna with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gozu to score with a decent uppercut.

Gozu is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

We've been informed that Luna has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Luna tries to keep at a distance but Gozu has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gozu wants to take the fight to the mat but Luna manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Luna has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gozu uses from the top position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gozu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gozu is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gozu is looking for a kimura but Luna is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gozu to get the leverage.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sloppy strikes from Luna. Those never looked like landing.
Luna feints a jab promting Gozu to slip. Luna then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gozu slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Luna lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Gozu fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Luna checks it well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gozu swings for the body but Luna moves out of range.
Gozu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Luna can do to turn this around?
Gozu uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Gozu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Luna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Luna seems a little lost for a moment, as Gozu dominates the positioning.
Gozu works to advance to full mount. Luna defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Miller Gozu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gozu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gozu unloads with some shots from mount but Luna bucks and avoids them well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gozu really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Luna.

Luna is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gozu gets his way!

Gozu is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Luna defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Luna is having to fend off submission attempts from Gozu, who is looking to sink in the choke. Gozu doesn't have the hooks in though and Luna manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Luna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gozu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Andres Luna is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gozu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Luna scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gozu in his tracks.

Gozu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Luna appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Luna has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Luna there as he acknowledges the shot.

Miller Gozu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Luna is fighting to break Gozu's control of his arms but Gozu is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gozu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Luna must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Andres Luna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Miller Gozu.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gozu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
