Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winford Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tython (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Winford Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Tython!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tython tries for a takedown but Cameron sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tython misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cameron went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Tython fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Winford Cameron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Tython.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tython misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cameron.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tython has Cameron pushed against the cage.

Cameron breaks the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Cameron as Tython shoots in.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tython fails with the takedown.
Tython fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cameron gets a double leg takedown into Tython's guard.
Cameron wants to stand but Tython has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cameron gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cameron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tython tries to keep at a distance but Cameron has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cameron has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tython uses from the top position.

Cameron looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Cameron continues to stall.

Cameron lands an upkick as Tython stands over him.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Tython wants to control from the top but Cameron keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cameron leaves Tython with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tython gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tython looks winded!
Cameron looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Tython working for submissions but it's allowed Cameron to get to half guard.
Cameron is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tython's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Tython duly obliges.
Tython is looking to chop away at Cameron's legs.
Cameron seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Tython closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Cameron jumps guard.
Cameron looking for a sweep. Not yet Cameron, not yet.
Cameron has his hands on Tython's head, controlling the position.
More hug and hope from Cameron.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tython is looking to work some ground and pound but Cameron has wrist control.

Cameron is controlling Tython's posture.
Tython must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cameron looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tython is fending him off so far but Cameron persists. Nope, Tython circles away and we're back to standing.

Tython bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Tython decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tython drives through and clinches with Cameron against the cage.
Tython has Cameron pressed against the cage, preventing Cameron from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tython looking to stall.
Tython has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cameron is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tython is breathing heavily.
Tython lands a shot to the body.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Cameron wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cameron tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tython is pressed up against the cage. Cameron has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tython down to the mat. Tython avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Winford Cameron. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cameron has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cameron prevents Tython from breaking the clinch.
Cameron fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Cameron manages to pull guard.
Cameron has his hands on Tython's head, controlling the position.
Tython trying to control the position from guard on top but Cameron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cameron is pulling down on Tython's head. It's preventing any offense from Tython, at least for the moment.
Winford Cameron overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cameron's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Tython wants to control from the top but Cameron keeps moving.
Cameron has Tython pulled in close to control his posture.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Tython showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Tython gets tackled into the cage by Cameron. Cameron maintains the clinch.
Tython tries to break the clinch but Cameron is controlling the position.
Cameron tries for a takedown. No joy.
Tython jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cameron walks away with a smile on his face. Tython gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

James Tython seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tython throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cameron's waist but Cameron gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tython off to one side.
Cameron appears to be looking for a big counter.
Tython takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tython misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cameron.
As Tython looks to move away, Cameron throws a big counter combo but Tython just gets out of the way.
Tython looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cameron seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Cameron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tython can do to turn this around?

Tython moves into range and clinches up with Cameron.

Cameron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tython gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tython tries to stall but Cameron uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Tython jumps guard but Cameron stands there with Tython around his waist. Tython gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cameron is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cameron is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cameron looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Cameron decides to stand and escape the position.

Cameron shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tython manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Tython is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cameron dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.


Cameron stands up and beckons Tython to his feet.

Cameron rushes Tython and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cameron has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tython uses from the top position.
Cameron has control of Tython's left arm, preventing Tython from doing any damage.
Cameron has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cameron wants to sweep but no luck.

Cameron has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cameron is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cameron is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cameron looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Winford Cameron showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cameron has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
